MEET THE DESIGNERS

Light, flow and simplicity

Trinas is the result of a close collaboration between Quiet Studios and JCP+CM Architects, two Lisbon-based studios that brought distinct but complementary expertise to the project.

JCP+CM Architects bring over 30 years of experience in architectural and urban rehabilitation, making them a natural choice for this project. Their work is guided by a deep respect for the past and a quiet clarity about the present. Each project begins with what is already there — the traces of time, the atmosphere of a place, the quiet dignity of a building long lived in.

Their architecture holds a quiet complexity: a dialogue between expressive, culturally rooted form and the pragmatism of constructive and environmental logic. Each intervention responds to the specificities of its site — its materials, means, and memory — while remaining open to innovation and change.

At Trinas10, their intention was to preserve the charm of the original while allowing space for contemporary life to unfold. Walls were opened to let the garden in, light was invited to move freely, and the view of the river was gently revealed. The project balances memory and comfort — restoring character while meeting the expectations of new ways of living.

Measured and enduring, their architecture listens before it speaks.

JCP+CM Architects led the architectural restoration and structural adaptation of the building. Their work carefully updated the internal layouts to suit modern living while preserving the original proportions and circulation. The architects focused on improving spatial flow, optimising natural light, and seamlessly integrating modern building systems — ensuring the building functions for contemporary life while maintaining its historic character.

Based here in Santos, Quiet Studios — one of Lisbon’s most respected interior architecture practices — led the interior design with their signature warm minimalism, expressive use of materials, and refined spatial rhythm. Founder Daniela Franceschini and her team embraced the building’s character — balancing clean lines with period details, and layering natural textures with a restrained, timeless palette.

The kitchens are crafted from oak and topped with creamy travertine stone, with built-in cabinetry that reads more like furniture than fit-out. Bathrooms feature warm limestone tops, chrome fixtures, heated towel rails, and heritage-style white and navy ceramic tiles by Koklatt.

The common areas continue the mood: painted in a palette of off-white and blue, with warm oak floors and vintage-inspired ceramic light switches.

The result is a set of five homes that feel tactile, contemporary, and full of character — a harmonious balance of period charm and contemporary craft.
